Installation Tips for Homeowners
Question
Can I size a mr.steam generator to an existing or new shower installation?
Answer
Yes, as long as the shower is enclosed and constructed of quality tile or marble, or a similar material that makes it steamtight. In no time, you can be enjoying a steambath. The generator can be installed in a closet, vanity, basement or heated attic. Click here to go to the Mr.Steam® size and selection page.
Question
What should I take into account when installing a mr.steam® steam generator?
Answer
Installing a steam generator is similar to installing any other plumbed and wired appliance, except that you will need to locate a dry, accessible area in your home for the generator, which requires its own cold water feed, drain, and electrical supply. Do not install the steam bath unit or plumbing lines in an unheated attic or any location where water would freeze.
Question
Can the generator be wired to the house electric supply?
Answer
Yes, and only a qualified, licensed electrician should wire the steam generator to the house electric supply.
Question
Does the steam shower require special ventilation?
Answer
No. After the steambathing session has ended, it is only necessary to turn on your shower, allowing excess steam to condense within the shower enclosure.
Question
Where do I install the steam generator?
Answer
Anywhere within 60 feet of the shower. This can be in a vanity, closet, basement, or heated attic.
Question
Where is the mr.steam® control located?
Answer
Since all mr.steam® eTempo controls are sustainable for in-shower use, it is recommended that they be located inside the shower enclosure.
